IsoChronous

What is IsoChronous about?

IsoChronous is a strategy action game with a mechanic based on time traveling. It was developed for Dare to be Digital 2012 competition and is still in development.

Which are its core mechanics?

The game features a battle of only 30 seconds between two armies, each one controlled by one player. The main point of the game is that when the 30 seconds run out, the time rewinds so all the units go back to their starting point. This conforms a time layer. Each battle has 4 time layers, and in each one a new unit is added to the battle. The player only has control over the unit of the current time layer, while the other units repeat exactly the same they did on the time layers where they were played. So, IsoChronous features a big 4 vs 4 battle where the units are added one by one, changing the course of the events in each time layer.

Who wins?

Each player has to command his 4 units to defeat the other player’s king, seated on the opposite side of the field, and defend their own. The 4th time layer is the decisive, so the player whose king has more health points remaining in the 4th time layer is the winner.
